DA 21mm f/3.2 Limited wobbles?

I just got my DA 21mm f/3.2 Limited lens.

However, when touching the focus tube, I notice that it does slightly wobble.

This isn't so with any of my many other lenses.

Note: The forum seems to have settled on this word for the effect. It has been reported for the 31mm Limited and some wide angle zomm, but not the 21mm limited (so far).

So my question is: Is this normal?

I can still return my lens and I will do so. The question is if any replacement lenses would be the same.

Taken Ben's problems to get correct AF, does this lens have build quality problems?

i am holding the DA21 in my hands right now,

the focus RING does not wobble, however, the extended tube (not that there is much to extend hehehe) could be shifted side to side and up down, but not in anyway alarming.

use this information as you will.

I just tried mine on and off the K100D. Rock solid. To borrow from Ms. Thatcher, I hope PTX hasn't gone 'wobbly'.............

Mine has what Gooshin describes. However, I do find it alarming so maybe it is a bit more pronounced with mine. John Kovarik says that his lens is rock solid and rocks don't wobble

So I guess that there is a variation of build quality.

I think this is normal for DA limiteds. FA limiteds have more damped focusing.
But also thats why DAs focus faster than FAs.
I had DA21 which did not wobble but it had a slight sound as if something was being cracked inside. I would prefer wobbling instead of this. I returned it due to BF anyways.

My FA43 was purchased in 99 and the focus ring wrobbles slightly too, more so than the FA31. The late version FA77 that I have does not wrobble however. Just some assembling variations and nothing to alarm. But I won't be surprised if some are assembled more tightly.
