Did you try to get some shots? You can mount it a bit.

Nikon AiS? Don't think you can use it on Pentax though without surgery...

If you're only going to shoot macro with it get a glass-less adapter.

Looks like some crud on the rear element lower left corner. Looks like element separation, or oil, or fungus. Maybe the coating is wearing away. Doesn't look like dust to me but hard to tell.

Yes, it's exactly the kind of ambiguous eBay item photo that can suck you in. For $25, the rear element might be fine. And I can get that mount to work. Probably.

Damn, someone bid on it.

[Repeat rationalizations about getting a great deal and curses after each bid.]

Crap, it's $100 now. Still, aren't these things going for like $350? People wouldn't pay that much if they weren't great glass.

This process is exactly how I got mine. Which I will fix any day now.

Ha ha, who needs an ambiguous photo. I once bought a lens, in person, that clearly had a rear element that looked just like that. Just because I went through the trouble of meeting the guy and I would have been defeated if I didn't bring something home. I'm sure I can get this thing disassembled and clean it myself.

I took the whole dang thing apart only to discover the rear elements are in a cemented unit, it looks like a metal tube with lenses at each, end sealed in place. Of course the crud was on the inside. Now I am looking for another cheap F 80-200 f/4.7-5.6 with a broken mount or front element, just so I can make one good lens. Stop the madness!
