Pentax DA300 F4..... Crazy Sale!

Heckuva deal!

Amazon does this sometimes, but usually it's old stock that is clogging the warehouse. The long delivery time either means they were able to buy it (from Pentax Europe?) at a good price and are awaiting their delivery... or perhaps it's stock from the US Amazon.com that wasn't moving due to the crazy MAP pricing in the past few months, again awaiting delivery. Kinda weird, but there you have it!

maybe it is a "grey" market lens. Same quality but slightly different.
Needs a long time to deliver, means it has to be ordered somewhere in asia i guess.

last year I bought a pentax 55-300 DA L for around €200. Slightly different from the original one, no green ring, no distance scale, no lens hood.
But perfect image quality.

Just an FYI to Canadian members, I have ordered from Amazon.co.uk before, and they do ship to Canada. Even better, they calculate a landed costs (customs/taxes) and add that to the bill up front. You don't pay a nickle more at delivery. In one case, I even got part of that "Import Fees Deposit" back, as Amazon will refund, if the actual amount comes in below. I calculated what it would cost for me to buy this lens, summary from Amazon below. After exchange conversion, this comes out to about $750-760 Cdn. Smokin' good price.

Amazon will not handle Grey Imports... if they ship and sell it, it will be under European Guarantee. They have a very strict international trade policy. That's why US customers can't buy on Amazon UK and visa vera.

That DA* 300mm is one of Pentax's all time greats in my opinion

It is the one lens i truly regret selling...awesome find.

It's not Grey as Amazon does not deal in Grey Market. The DA L is supposed to have no green ring, no distance scale, and no lens hood - plus a plastic mount; these are the features that distinguish the DA L model from the DA model.
