Pentax DA300 F4..... Crazy Sale!

It looks like I'm way last to receive mine. A Swede that ordered way after me and after my lead already got his yesterday. This isn't fair...

I'm happy for you and I hate you at the same time. I'm going to need to find a way to make this happen in the next year or so although I'm not really sure what I would photograph with 300mm's.

Good news and bad news.
Yay, I got my copy now! The bad is that my lens got something that looks like an about 6-8mm long scratch/dent on the rear element. I'll try to take a photo of it. I've only looked briefly through the lens and haven't even put it on the camera so it can't responsible for it. Also it is a bit dirty around the edges of the front lens and and got some dust specks inside of it (I guess it's at an normal level though). Did I get a refurbished one?

Sounds more like open-box/return.
Refurbished would not have those issues and/or be cleaner I would think.
Also, in most cases the refurbished units will be identified as such and usually in different packaging.

Anyway, I'm not happy with it and I think it's understandable.

Since it is NOT a zoom lens, I certainly hope you didn't here a zoom noise.

I'll take pics before shipping back the old one tomorrow. My brother also thinks my copy is really weird. The element almost looks like it was damaged when outside the lens. Also the dirt around the front lens and dust on (and somewhat inside) the lens is quite intriguing.

Finally got a new one that looked a lot better! Not to mention that this one was packaged differently so the first one had probably been opened before, by someone careless.
