Compatibility of A1.4 S Converter

Hello

I Had the opportunity to get one of these rare converters. Now I found that it is not compatible with FA200 and FA300 - does anybody have experiences in combination with The DA200 and DA300?

In what way is the converter not compatible, except the obvious lack of AF and other digital transmitted lens info ?

I don't use my TCs much, but I have this TC and I'm sure I've used it with my F*300 before. And my DA*200 should be arriving tomorrow - I don't think it will have any trouble with it either.

The official compatibility list for that unit predates the DA series. Since it doesn't have a protruding front element (as the L-converters do), it should physically fit onto any lens. And because it is plain KA-mount, it should work on the DA* lenses (of course without any of the features of later mounts: autofocus, lens and MTF data).

BTW, the compatibility list for the L-converters does include the DA*200; those converters are apparently still manufactured on special order. That list is also incomplete, I can attest as I use both converters with the A400/5.6 which is not on the list.
