Looking for ideas outside the box for Bigma replacement

For a while now I have been looking into various lens system (zoom/prime/teleconverter) combinations to replace my Bigma (Sigma 50-500mm) with lens set with higher quality images (resolution, bokeh, contrast, CA). I am looking for a system with a focal range of about 100mm to 500mm, that also auto focuses well.

Here is what I have considered so far:
- Pentax 60-250mm + teleconverter - then autofocus doesn't work well and image quality is probably not exceeding Bigma
- Pentax 60-250mm + 300mm - doesn't have the long range
- Pentax 60-250mm + Pentax 560mm - large gap between 250mm and 560mm, price is very high and is too heavy and to large
- Pentax 60-250mm + Sigma 500mm - price is very high and too heavy and too large
- 60-250mm + Sigma 300mm + Sigma 2x teleconverter - price is still a bit high and still a bit heavy and large, not sure how well autofocus will work with TC and image quality is possibly better than Bigma
- Sigma 105mm macro (which I have) + Pentax 300mm + Sigma 500mm - price is very high and too heavy and too large and macro lens is slow to focus

I am starting to give up and stick with the Bigma, unless someone has some great ideas. Or if I am lucky, some day Pentax will put out a 100-500mm zoom, but I doubt it.

Any help is highly appreciated.

According to the lens road map there might be a DA lens in the 100-400ish range in the pipeline. If that is WR and not too large I would be interested in replacing my 55-300 with it. That plus either the DA 560 or the Sigma 500 would work. Or, depending on the aperture you might be able to use a TC with it. 100-400 with a matched 1.4x TC would be very nice, but probably too heavy to replace the 55-300.

There is nothing available (at any reasonable price) that fills your needs. The F* and FA* 250-600mm would be a very nice lens to have back in the lineup and would compliment the DA*60-250 well but I shudder to think what those would cost today.

All said and done the Bigma delivers amazing value and with proper technique and support delivers very good images with enough light.

Well I replaced my Bigma with the DA*300mm when it came out and then my K10D 10.2MP with the K5 16.3MP thus 300x16.3/10.2 = 480mm (if you're cropping)
I've had some good results with the 1.7xAFTC
