Hello everyone,

I've never been a wide angle lens guy. 90 percent of my shooting is done in the tele-zoom range (mostly sports shooting). Lately, I just have an itch for an ultra wide zoom. I think it started when I decided to use my 18-55 kit lens exclusively for about a week and really found myself enjoying the wide range. I don't know if this is another one of those, "I just gotta have it" or if I really do want a ultra wide angle lens.

I'm hoping you guys can post some of your images to help me decide whether I really want one. Landscape images would be nice, but I think I'm more interested in shots of people and objects. Secretly, I think I already do and this is just an excuse to find a justification for one. If you can also recommend a lens, I would really appreciate that too.

UWA is a wonderful range for me. I have a 10-17, 14, 12-24, and some others like the 16-50, 17-28. My favorite is my Samsung 12-24 (equivalent to the Pentax DA 12-24)

This one shot with my DA 10-17 Fisheye. It's not too "fishy" if you frame your shot right.

This was today with the DA 15

I would say that a wide lens is on my camera these days about 90% of the time.

Thiis Flickr set is all with the DA 12-24, taken early in my life with it. More recently, I went to Dinosaur Provincial Park, and one day had only the 12-24 and 55-300 with me. To my surprise, I did not miss the gap.
