DFA 100mm auto focus problem

Hi people,
Has anyone had any issues with their Pentax DFA 100mm f2.8?. Put mine on the camera yesterday and it would not auto focus.
I could hear it trying, but nothing was happening. Am I missing something basic?
Works fine on manual focus.

And its out of warranty by two or three months.
Cheers
Grant

The focus lock clamp? No, that was off (first thing I checked).

Sorry to hear this.

It happened to me once during hiking. It was near a waterfall and the humidity was quite high. I had the lens unable to autofocus for about 2 hours or so. Then I put it away...

2 weeks later, I put it on the k10d and it works fine again.

Lucky that it had not happened too often

....this is scary...I was photographing waterfalls and the humidity/mist was high. The environment was very damp.

Thanks for the heads up mate, I will hold off sending it away.

Praise for CR Kennedy. Sydney.

The DFA 100mm is home again.
Auto focus is now working. I note on the service report that no fault was found with the lens, so maybe this moisture/condensation thing is something to be aware of.
However....I also note that the focus ring seems 'tighter' in its action than when it left here.

So in a world where people are quick to criticise I would like to offer my thanks to the folks at CR Kennedy & Co in Sydney, turn around was fast, service contact was prompt, courteous and efficient. Can not ask for more than that.

.....now, where do I buy my K20 from???
Cheers
