Cool find. Surprised that Canon ventured into the world of telescope lenses. Telescope people invented the cat lens. At 20" across there are much larger telescopes! Hate to ask how much Canon wants for it.
thanks

This is definitely an "Off Road" lens and as such:

I'd buy it, except I couldn't afford the food for the team of slaves I'd need to carry it for me

It's mirror

Isn't it f14 mirror lens? Soligor 500/8 mirror shuld be better than Panagor 520/14 mirror. And Tamron 170/4 Macro should be better than Soligor 500/8 mirror.

What i mean 1700/4 > 5000/8 mirror > 5200/14 mirror.

Kyrios

That's obviously the biggest 'lens' in terms of mm, but not weight... check out this nearly 570lb lens from an earlier discussion... and looks MUCH nicer.

The photo of that Canon 5200 is a classic: I love the little spotter scope on the top (a lens with a spotter scope!) and the handles at each corner for your team of "coffin bearers" to lug the thing around. And, yeah, the itty-bitty camera bayonetted to the thing.

take the cam off and add a laser and you'd be able to take out satellites

Remember to hold it by the lens, not by the camera.

Move around fast enough and you're safe. When it's dark tonight, they're gonna need a helluva long shutter speed at f13!
