Seems this lens is out of stock (I have tried several vendors) but I have been offered other alternatives............. Just wondering if these are better/worse but I was really liking the WR feature of the pentax lens (FYI I have a K10D)

Sigma 18 - 250
Sigma 18-200
Tamron 18 - 200

If WR is important, then I'd wait for the 18-135 WR to come back into stock, or look at an import?

The 18-135 is not the best lens optically, but it's still quite good, and better regarding IQ than the otherr lenses you mention. Especially considering that the two 18-200 are much older models, regarded as quite poor optically. I'd wait if you were set on the 18-135, especially since it includes WR, silent focusing, and better optics.

Don't know what the others are like but I (H) my 18-135mm

To me it makes the most sense in WR terms as its a wideangle to mid range tele - i.e. you don't have to change lenses in a wet environment. Also the DC focus is very fast.
