Hi this is my first post...and need some advice...
I have been toying with how to get my great SMC 50 f1.4 back to normal. I have a sharp copy of this lens but over time it has started to yellow as some older copies do, something to do with a radioactive element used in the lens. I have heard that you can wrap the lens in foil and put it in the sunlight and this will reverse or at least help to reduce the yellowing effect.
My question is what is the best way to wrap the lens? And some say to wrap the entire lese but others say to leave the mount end exposed?
Can anyone give me a better description on how to perform the foil fix?
thanks,
Migz
