For Pentax...

Old lens: A series lens is pretty. I have A 50mm f/1.2 and it is very nice.
Modern lens: DFA 100mm macro WR
Modern lens series: 645D lenses.

Ugly lenses: F series, then FA series.

Voigtlander SL125 f2.5 manual focus with the square metal hood. Everything about it is beautiful.

Prettiest lens: FA 77
#2 FA 43

But I do love my K55 1.8, she's beat up, scratched, dented filter threads, brassing and a little stiff. But the optics are perfect and the pictures "it" produces are unique.

I was going to say my Zeiss 25/2.5 Distagon ZK - it really is very nice - wonderful images too. But then Medium FormatPro's post got me thinking, so I'll have to go with a little lens system I helped design that is located down in west Texas. They call it HET, as in the Hobby-Eberly Telescope

The HET's 9.2 meter effective aperture makes it currently the world's fourth largest optical telescope.

My M 50 1.7 is a work of engineering and artistic beauty.

If by "pretty" you mean attractive then I'd say FA* 85mm. With the hood attached it's voluptuous in a Sophia Loren / Christina Hendricks kind of way—bulbous curves and big, glassy eyes. The DA* 55mm is a scaled-down version of the same look. A Voigtländer 58mm Nokton also makes a Pentax look like a snappy dresser.

Since big is beautiful, the Sigma EX 180 macro wins among my lenses with M50, M85 and M135 taking other podium places.
The A1200 or FA 250-600 would be obvious choices...

the prettiest lenses i own/owned?
definitely the first place goes to DA*50-135 with its internal zoom and focus in great build compact black body
second place to K 85/1.8 ... which is the best match for K-5 among all lenses I ever tried...
3rd place has to be granted to FA 31/1.8, which is an eyecatching lens on its own

Not necessarily the prettiest, but undoubtedly the cutest lens I own is the Q 01 standard prime, just arrived today.

If we are widening 'pretty' to 'cute', then 'macho' has to come next:

I don't really think any of my lenses are prettier than any other actually. Some of them stand out for what they do but a lens is a lens to me when it comes to looks. I tend to like all the good ones I own for various reasons, but I can't say aesthetics plays a huge part in things. I do tend to like old style all metal lenses with a bit of heft but I'm not anal about it.

But if I had to pick a fave, it would be the silver FA77.

Mind you, the 01 Standard Prime is pretty nifty with its optional hood....

Agreed! Wait - what's that "ugly" little brick doing lurking in the background?
