What lens is it?

It looks "cheap", which might not mean bad, but which means it probably wasn't changed much between the A and AF versions. Any comments you read on the A version should apply.

Slip-
Your photo is reduced enough it is not possible to determine what this lens is. Please edit your post to give brand and model information in text form.

As noted we need more pixels to look at, and a photo of the lens face on would help. If it is a Pentax lens it will be in the db.

I don't think so as the one in that photo doesn't have the sigma on the barrel, and they have a different distance markings.

thanks

The distance markings look similar to me. Are they on both the top and bottom of the lens you have? It could be that the photo is the underside of the lens. It could also be the wrong photo. If you have the lens, why not post pictures of the exact one you have, including a shot of the front, rather than pulling images off the web which may or may not be correct.

I have one of those. I paid 10£ for it on ebay maybe 10 years ago. Mine has an aperture ring, with the A setting,
and it came with a nice deep lens hood.

My copy is mostly rubbish:
- weak contrast, even with the hood on.
- soft above 250mm
- meters incorrectly on my DSLRs, requiring -1 comp. It was fine on my MZ-5 film camera though.
- prone to jam in the AF. The focus ring has so much play that it jams if you bump the hood or rest the lens
on the focus ring. You can twist it back into place with your hand though.

I never use it anymore, as I've purchased better lenses since then. Nowadays I'd rather use my DA200 or 50-135 and crop.

Regards,
--Anders.
