If An FF Does Debut...

will you go:

a)All FF and re-purchase your favorite non-FA lens

b)Stay with top APS-C

c)Do both?

I may go 2 FF/1 APS-C or vice-versa.

Sell K-5 if it exceeds its performance and keep my K-r. A small and lightweight (yet very capable) camera still has its utility.
As far as lenses go, I'm FF-ready.

That's a big IF. In the Netherlands we have a saying: When Eastern and Ascension day are on the same day. LOL!

Even though I'm quite happy with my K5 and 5D, I would instantly buy any Pentax FF that's reasonably affordable.

Id keep my K-5 IIs, becauseI like its size and IQ.

And most certainly i would add a FF too if it turned out to be a fit for me.

As soon as my economy would allow, I would get rid of the K-5 and get the FF. If it would not turn out to be a complete failure in one of the areas that are important to me.

All lenses I have are FF so no problem there.

The FF is definitely coming and I am saving for it now, why else would Ricoh be opening up a big whole above $1300

Because there is no reason to go FF in 2012

Not with the current market trends, that is. Go APS or go MF, FF serves no real purpose.

Yeah, ~€1000,- or ~€10.000,-, who on earth needs something in between?!?

I'll stick with both.

Right now I only have one non FF lens (hooray for buying old, cheap stuff?) so I'd be generally set. I'd just need a new kit lens (which I'd assume would debut with this mythic FF camera anyhow) or press my FA28-90mm into a second life.

If I have $3-4000 available I would go with the FF and a K-01 (or replacement). That way I keep the compact size of APSC (and still use my DA15) but I also get the FF camera.

But I wouldn't get a FF w/o buying a FF wide angle WR zoom (16ish-35ish) and the FA77. I have a lot of K/M/A legacy lenses (and the DFA100WR) to fill in any gaps but I don't have wide and the FA77 is on top of my list. I would probably also swap my DA40 for a FA43.

I never advanced beyond ist ds and don't have any DA lenses
So I rationalize that half the cost of a 35 mm dslr is already covered by that saving.
Actually I am back to film, using MX and Ricoh slrs and fixed focal Pentax-M and Ricoh XR and enjoying it.
I use 35 ~ 55mm lenses mostly.
Re the crippled mount talk on the other thread, I can say the metering on the old slrs sure works well on film,
but I suppose the technology was too crude to carry into the dslrs.

I just got some Fuji X-tra 800 into the MX , I will try that at the indoor parties etc this year instead of the dslr.

I learned a bit about M4/3 on a low cost Oly last year. This year I am learning to use 6 by 9 and 6 by 7
In my opinion, 35 mm is the place to be, as a hobbiest and as a traveler.

Once a successor to the current K-5 series becomes available, it will replace my current K-5. Should a FF show up, I would get one straight away and use them both. Lenswise this is not a problem. With the exception of the DA*16-50 all my lenses are FF ready.

When the FF camera comes out and all those K-5s go on the market, I might pick one up. They should be selling for about $200.

If (when) FF does come out, I'm more worried about the effect on the used lens market than anything. I doubt you'll see lenses like the F35-70 go for $50 in a Pentax FF world. For the last year or so I've been getting my FF/AF ducks in a row...

I would love to use my old K and M lenses on FF, whilst being able to use my DA 2.8 zooms on a 12 or 18 mp crop.
