Keep my 18-135mm?

I have been very happy with my 18-135mm lens, but I almost pulled the trigger on the 16-50mm this past weekend...$749. If that price comes back I might and sell the 18-135 and get the 16-50. But, is there a big difference in IQ? I have the 50-135 and love it. Having a faster lens for my event work would be handy for low light.

Thanks for the advise in advance!

Eric

Different lenses, for different purposes. I have both 18-135 and 16-50. IMHO there is a significant IQ improvement with the 16-50. However, the 18-135 is a great travel, family lens.

For work I either use primes or the 16-50. For vacation I take the 18-135 as it is much more versatile and weighs less. For me the 16-50 is too heavy to tote around all day when I'm on vacation.

I'll put a +1 on that answer and suggest you think about the Tamron 17-50 instead of the Pentax. There are difference and the Pentax might still be your choice in the end, but the 17-50 has its proponents as well.

Keep it for sometime as you may never know SDM failure of 16-50.
