DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 WR and filter fit

I am a new K5 II owner with the DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 WR lens. One thing I liked about the Pentax lens is that the included hoods have that little pop out window to adjust a Circular Polarizer. I had a Heliopan 62mm circular polarizer which I attached to the lens. Then I discovered the hood will not fit & lock on the lens. The hood will cover the filter and appear like it will fit, but will not rotate enough to lock the hood into place. At this time all I can do is place the hood over the filter & end of the lens and as long I don't point the lens down or jar it the hood will sit there. When using a tripod this will probably work OK, but not when hand held.
Anyone else have this problem? Maybe this is just a problem with Heliopan filters.

Does not sound familiar, I have 3 cpl`s (Hoya, Tristar & B&W) and 1 LCW ND500 and the hoods of the lenses just fit right on.

Maybe different filter thickness? I've never tried a cpl on my 18-135 so I'm no help but I wonder if the newer 'slimline' filters would work.

Does the outer filter edge extend beyond the outer edge of the lens tread ring?

I have no problem with the Tiffen Digital HT Circular Polarizer.
