As others have mentioned, AF is less important for macro but having a KA-mount at least gives you easier exposure control. Doing stop-down metering with K- or M42-mount lenses is relatively easy but a bit more time consuming.

But hey, if you want AF then that's what you want. Check out the Cosina 100mm f/3.5 macro. It's got kind of crappy build quality but reasonably good optics. It was sold under several brand names, including Cosina, Vivitar, Phoenix, Quantaray, Promaster, and even Pentax. More info...

I have 4 macro setups, the cheapest was $60, the most expensive was about $149. ( but this latest one is in 1984$)

They ate, SMC-m 100/4 macro, the S-M-C tak 50/4, the tamron 90/2.5 and a bellows with a 135mm enlarging lens.

In addition to this I have extension tubes in both K andM42 as well as an M42 focusing helix, and the vivitar 2x macro focusing tele converter.

There are lots of cheap options out there. The tamron cost me $60 a few months back. Came with M42 mount. The M100/4 was the most expensive, considering what 1984 dollars would be worth today. The tak cost me about 90, and the bellows complete as I modified it (it started as a Miranda bellows) abut 125 with enlarging lens
