Fantastic price.
This lens is pure awesomeness

At f/1.4 it runs circles around the Pentax FA 50/1.4 so quickly that it isn't funny anymore. And the bokeh surpasses even the bokeh of the famous 85's by Pentax, IMHO. The only downside is that it doesn't sharpen up at f/4 and higher into crazy sharp regions as most 85's do, but who wants to shoot such a lens at f/8?

The quality and affordability of Samyang (aka Rokinon, Bower, Polar, etc) lenses makes me enjoy manual focus and is a stark reminder of how perversely inflated most lens prices are.

I bought one. I have to say I was worried about using a manual focus lens. Not anymore! It's so easy. I'm loving this lens and what a great deal.

Amazon just informed me that mine has shipped. Should probably have it on Monday or possibly Tuesday at the latest.

You talked me into it. Placed my order.

Even with the Amazon shipping cost added, its cheaper than you can buy it anywhere in Australia.

I hope you'll like it as much as I do. I used it today and got some great results.

Received mine from Amazon yesterday. This is a serious piece of glass with nice build quality and some definite heft to it. Love that it has the A on the aperture ring which I don't think the Nikon and Canon variants have. Focusing ring is a little on tight side but I suppose that it'll loosen up a bit over time. The lens cap and hood are super cheap but I'm loving everything else about the lens.

Mine came from Amazon today.
It is a hefty sucker!
Focus ring is a bit stiff on mine too.
I like it so far, but for me, it's going to take some practice, even with focus peaking on the 01.
Very sharp when ya nail it though!

Ordered mine last week and although it was showing as not being in stock, I received it this morning. Everything looked really great until I noticed a big assed bubble in the rear element. So back to Amazon it goes.....sigh....

Sorry to hear about that. Seems an unusual problem. Never heard of an actual bubble in the lens glass before. Do you have a pic?

Mine should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully with no bubbles in the glass, but now I will be looking extra carefully into the lens when it arrives

Congratulations to each of you! That lens at that price is a great deal IMHO. When I nail focus with it the images are stunning. Merry Christmas to each of you, you're going to enjoy it if you are patient.

You should try Russian and East German lenses from the 60's and 70's... "bubbles in the glass" were considered to be marks of domestic quality!

rear element bubble

Not the best picture, I know, but its the spot in the lower half of the lens.
