Count me in. This is manipulation of an otherwise free market. I purchased a 645D from an on-line authorized vendor. On-line price was $1,000 more than when I called for a price quote. The store had to post the item for the agreed price just long enough for me to place my order on-line. Then they removed the item to be in compliance with Pentax's policy.
So what good is Pentax's price-fixing policy doing if all you need to do is post the item and remove it?
The purpose of the price fixing is not Pentax looking after the little guy, it's to price fix so that they can sell their own product at full MSRP on their own site to make a massive proffit. If anything, their price should be the lowest on the planet since their cost for any given item is much lower than anyone else on the planet.
So will I buy the 25mm at $4,999? WTH do you think... Just waiting for one to pop up on eBay otherwise I'll never buy it new from anyone, ever.
