I'm in.

A few months ago I got my K-5 IIs but the only new lens I have bought for it was a grey market 18-55WR.

Until the prices of pentax lenses become more competetive I see no reason not to buy old Manual pentax lenses and in the new market strictly 3rd party.

I got financially secure by being smart with my money.

Count me in too. I was so excited to get my first (and only) Pentax DSLR and hopefully add to my collection of lenses. However UPP has made me worry that I made the wrong choice when it comes to DSLR brand if I can't afford to add to that collection if prices continue to be so unreasonably high.

I own the da*16-50 and the DFA 100mm wr both bought new and before the price increase.

Here's what I'm buying now:

I'm not asking for 'cheap' I want good quality and I'm prepared to pay for it. But this pricing nonsense is not helping anyone.

I fully support the need to get Pentax gear in brick and mortar stores. I believe it is absolutely essential to growing the brand. And if UPP is needed to do that, fine. But the implementation has not worked and really, really needs a re-think.
Those are beautifully preserved lens bodies, if the optics are in as good shape those are some very nice lenses. That is one of the BIG draws for Pentax cameras, the old glass.

Love pentax lens's! Only problem I have is I need to buy them used, new lens's are too expensive! Buying used is okay but I don't know what really the condition is. I always consider other name lens's compatable to pentax DSLR's, eg. Tamron/Sigma. Please lower the new prices.

Count me in as well. There always seems to be a bunch of places where the $$$ goes (mostly health-related, but that's another story) before it can get spent on "luxury incidentals" like better camera equipment. For me, photography is most definitely a hobby - a very relaxing one for sure. But if I have to spend more than a week's after-taxes income to obtain a somewhat superior lens, it's just not happening. I'm not going to bring in any extra income from this hobby anytime soon; I can enjoy the improvements to my picutres from developing my technique (mostly learned on this forum!) without having to impact my family.

Okay, I'm coming down from the soapbox, now.

Thanks for starting this petition. Except for my Black Friday purchases of a K-01 and 40mm LTD, I haven't purchased a single Pentax lens or body since the UPP took effect. Instead, Pentax's pricing led me to start investing in a Nikon system (their lens have a 5-year warranty). I still have a huge soft spot for Pentax and will buy their equipment if their prices come down.

Since the price increases I have only been buying used lenses - I can get a half-dozen quality used ones for the price of a single new one. So I'm in favor of them lowering prices to something reasonable.

I'd be glad to see the pricing policy changed. Would also like to see some more reasonable prices *at* brick and mortar stores, as the few I've seen Pentax products at, have absurd pricing schemes on them.(IE: 40-50% higher than online prices)
