That's some serious bling! Can you imagine the looks you would get if you were walking around taking pictures with that.

But it does have a 50mm f1.2.

Yeah isn't that the ugliest thing you've seen?? Back in the day, when the LX was current, my local store had one of these on loan. They had a glass case, alarm etc for the thing. Heck if you could steal it, you wouldn't want to go in public with it and no one in their right mind, would give you $50.00 for the thing. Butt Ugly!!

Now as for the stupidity of Ebay. I am looking to rebuild my kit and hunting around for a few deals here and there. Saw a package on Ebay with a K10D +lenses. Figured that these packages generally sell for less than the sum of the items separately.
Generally the used prices are:
K10D $600
AF540FGZ $300
FA50mm f1.4 $200
DA50-200mm $150
Grip $125
2 batteries and 1Gb EX SD $40

I'm being generous with the prices (most k10D's sell at $550-575 and AF540's at $250-275 etc) and that totals $1415.00 at the top end of the used pricing.
Pentax K10d Camera + Grip + 540fgz + FA 50mm + 50-200mm - eBay (item 160207019484 end time Feb-15-08 20:55:00 PST)

This camera has a cracked baseplate! Who knows if it's been dropped or not and the seller was clear that he was not taking anything back. At a very minimum, the base plate needs replacing for about $100.00. Not much of a deal...

Makes me wonder what the hype is all about. It is a good lens but not worth that kind of price tag
