No, I dont think so. About 90% of his glass is slow varible aperture zooms that are worth peanuts.
Yeah I looked through his Minolta and Pentax stuff and thought "he doesn't have a single lens that I would want". The zeiss and leica glass would be nice, but the vast majority of the stuff is junk. At 4-5 lenses each, I think my Minolta/Pentax collections are better than his.

No, this is not. I know what is Pentax porn though:

http://forum.xitek.com/thread-524058-1-1-1.html

Look at all the exotic Pentax lenses (The person who own these lenses reside in Taiwan). Apparently, these are NOT all he owned, these are just one lot of the lenses he has, he took these photos before he put then in a temperature and moisture controlled safe in bank.

Now that is something. And the mystery of why old FA * lenses are so rare and expensive is solved.

Lee
Now that's what I call a lens collection. The gold K1000s are a nice touch.

I'd like to be in the vicinity if he had a garage sale...

Guess what he does with all those lenses ? - he takes pictures of them.

The man really ought to get a life.

So next time the Missus says something about another lens showing up in the mail I can just show her this picture, right?

But like Codazzle said, he needs to put a few caps on...
She'll probably suggest you move in with him.

Many 3rd party lenses, but still one heck of a collection

Nice collection. He love photography for sure, he is a visual artist on his own and he save some history behind those lenses. I am sure many people will appreciate his collection either he is keeping them all for good or selling them for people who need some choice, so what? He have life I just hope he will not bring them to his grave when he die. Hebat! Makasih!

Only a few of his lenses in selected mounts I'd even want. But nevertheless, a grand collection indeed.

How many of those have fungus, or don't work?

Hi Tighelander,

All of my lens are fully functional and none have fungus, coating issues or any other problems that would limit them in any way. Over the years, I have some of my 650 lens (various lens collections) serviced, because I know about each lens design, its mechanical properties and electrical connections (if that applies) . Most every lens that passes through my lab is disassembled . so that there is nothing that I can not do to preserve any lens. Even if an element was broken, a coating was damaged, etc.. I could repair it to new again. The optical shop can easily make replacement lens if required, and coat to the same level as the origin design.
Last point, none of my lens collect dust. They are used on a rotational basis with over 40 camera bodies that are always serviced and ready to work in the field. When I shoot professionally, I have a set of lens that I use for specific tasks. When I shoot casually, I try various lens in the field. Between my own work and my lab work, I have filled over 150 large hard drives with imagery, not including the thousands of film images that were taken prior to the digital era. Some of the film images have been scanned as well.

Best Regards, Mike
