It is big. It is heavy. But the IQ more than makes up for it. It's my standard mount lens when the camera is in K-mount mode.

Yep, big and heavy, but very good IQ and stellar color rendition! I would say that this lens does colors better than any other I own, including my 77ltd. But it's not as contrasty or as sharp as the 77, nor do I expect it to be.

NaCl(and an excellent zoom range)H2O

Would you guys please stop rubbing it in. I sold mine and have kicked myself ever since. Damn fine lens and I know I'll wind up taking a chance on Ebay someday soon.

Did you sell yours before or after you went digital? The reason I'm asking is because going digital seemed to transform my 35-105. It was always capable of creating great pics, but the zoom range didn't fit my eye. Not quite wide enough for the wide angle things I saw...not quite telephoto enough to isolate the details I saw....and too slow and heavy to fill the middle ground decently. But with my K10D, the magnification factor of digital has put my 35-105 into a range that works great for the way I see things. It's constantly on my camera now.

I did sell it after getting the K10D. Used it on a digital (K110D, K10D) for about a year. It was a fixture with my LX and PZ-1p before that. But there was this Sigma 12-24mm calling my name and the LBA kicked in. Since I had a few other lenses in the same FL, I thought I could do without this lens. Wrong again. I'll never sell one lens to buy another again unless it never gets any use.

Thanks. I was just curious. I guess it boils down to what focal lengths suit your eye.

i agree with all that's said. what blew me away was how sharp and contrasty it is wide open. here's a couple of snaps at 105, d3.5, and f8 and a full frame resize..

cheers
