Is this *60-250 to slow for weddings?

Would the f4 on this lens be too slow for weddings?
I realize that the 50-135 2.8 would be best, but the focal length of the longer lens would be a good asset since I only do a wedding once in awhile

Thanks

Randy

With the newer bodies, it should be ok, since people have been using K10Ds and K20Ds at ISO 400 and 800 with f2,8 lenses for years. the new cameras give you 2-3 stops more ISO range so I wouldn't worry too much.

That being said, f2,8 gives yuo a narrower FOV and that's an asset. The 50-135 looks like the ideal wedding lens to me. Or at least get the 60-250 and a fast 50 or a 100 macro f2.8.

I just shot a wedding with it and was quite pleased with the results... until the reception. I had it mounted on the K-7 I believe and had the K-5 for wider shots. But during the wedding in full sun, I was able to get some good shots, IMO... And even at the reception, the shots were good, but it took a long time to focus because it was outdoors and poorly lit.

Thanks, they look great!
Do you think that lens with the K5IIs will have the same focusing issues?
Was the extra 50mm over a 70-200mm come in handy?

Thanks

Randy

I can attest that it does, and even more so, the 10mm at the wide end makes a tremendous difference.
