Well, I gave it a go and changed all "C0" to "80" in col 03, including values above 0400. And it seems to work fine on my K-01 now, though the longer focus distances are somewhat harder to find focus. But it works on my K-01 so I'm extremely happy.

Thanks Clover for the instruction! I was able to resurrect my DA* 16-50mm on my K-x, saved me $200 to send it to Pentax for repairs.

I tried it in sunlight with great results. Focus works very well in brighter light. I'm very pleased by the revival of my 50-135 and the super K-01.

nixite, did your LENSEEP file have FF for all values above 00400?

Sorry, I was off line for a couple of days. I did the same thing as Nixite and Aegon, I changed C0 to 80 in column headered with a 3. My screw focus seems to work fine at all focal lengths. Thanks to all for the help.

Here is my updated LENSEEP.LNS (just remove the .TXT from the end.) This worked fine with my K-7 with firmware 1.11 and my 50-135 SDM (not not SDM) lens!

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I've been holding on to a K10D to use the 50-135 with screwdrive. Now I can slide on over to the K-01 and pair the magnificent 50-135 with a magnificent sensor.

Very few threads on PF have brought me such great joy. The sensation is similar to receiving a free DA* lens.

Same here... but for the WR. Will probably get the Tamron 17-50 though. But this makes me unafraid to get a 50-135

Someone has to post a video of an SDM lens working with screwdrive. Otherwise it is like the Bigfoot myth

i got it work on my *16-50.

Pentax DA*16-50 powered by Screw drive. say NO to SDM. (tested by Kx K30) - YouTube

0:24 > K-x + DA*16-50
1:15 > K-30 + DA*16-50

Same here for 17-50, replacing my 16-45.
As for the 50-135... oh, dear, this is a gem

Thanks Salagubang, I understand (and have followed) the instructions to a tee. C0 values in column 03 are to be changed to 80 using Notepad++, and the resulting LENSEEP.LNS written back to the lens. My experience is that this did not work, and since I have a 50-135, NOT a 16-50 I was asking if different values needed to be changed.

I will go back and try the procedure again, but I have a feeling there are different values that need to be changed for the 16-135..
Worked as written on my 50-135. It wasn't totally broken but it would squeak and sometimes not focus after a few seconds. I think it was on its way out and I was going to try the SDM repair by pulling the lens apart but this took only a few minutes and works great. Thank you!

has anyone turned the DA* 16-50 to screw drive mode (using a K10D, K7, ..) and used the lens on the K-5, yet? That should work just fine right?
