I've managed to get into my Debug Mode thanks to a member here. Now I just need the K10D files or assistance as to which ones to download as there is only a text file under 'Older Cameras' referring to the K10D which I don't understand. Thank you again, if this fails, I'll send it to cross border to UncleV.

Once in the debug menu you shouldn't need anything more.

The files you manipulate are on the lens.

Thanks to a member here (Stephen) my 50-135 is up and running in screw drive mode! This place is the best! I also want to thank UncleV for his assistance and patience.

Just converted my new to me DA* 300mm using the K-5.

Step 1 - save backup of rom file in a separate directory.

I'm glad I did this. My first try last night, I did a "replace all" of the C0 with 80, which notepad++ quickly did. I uploaded the rom file and....nothing. I was so disappointed.
This evening I gave it another go, and did the "find next" option. Apparently, I had replaced the C0, in the line numbers (not just column 3) as well. When I did it with the find next, I made sure only to swap the column 3 C0.

A silly mistake, but the backup saved the day.

Hello there! Does the unlock feature available at K200? Tried to search over this thread, but didn't find anything, maybe i wrong.
I have K3 body which doesn't support this.

My 16-50 from 2009 has already been serviced twice, and is showing hesitation focusing again. I might need to dig out the K7 and convert it to screw drive.

I finally got around to converting my DA* 50-135 last week using a K-7. Lens is far more responsive now and appears to lock focus more reliability than with the SDM. I needed to dial in about +8 of fine adjustment on the K-3 but that may be more related to my body than the lens (other lenses need a similar adjustment).

I found this to be true with my DA16-50 too. I converted mine to screw drive about five years ago, after two SDM failures. Not a fan of the new "faster/better" AF motors, though the SDM seemed particularly prone to failure.

Iíve not found speed to change when covering a lens unless sdm is already slow or unreliable.
