eagerly waiting for codes to disable sdm in 50-135... thank you for sharing! or is the code for 16-50 same as the codes for 50-135?
The lens file is completly different, from 16-50, to 50-135mm, but you can find where there is some similar code to change.

Unfortunatly , for the 60-250mm, it is different, but I only try one way.

I thought long and hard if this could be done... now it is. Thanks to whoever did this contribution it is SO VERY HELPFUL!!
I am only the last "link" of this process. The hader thing was already done, but I am the only one who give the way to do it with the DSLR without using NotePad++ (it isnot really hard as long as you understand how it works)

exactly what i think !

We should ask the tech guy to see if you can adjust front/back focus by the same method ?
Front and Back Focus are very hard to adjust, it is useful if you have a K10d, for younger DSLR, most of the time, the regular adjust is enought. The hardest thing is that adjusting Front and Back focus is specific for a unique couple of DSLR and Lens.

I do not know what could lead admins to put it on sticky, I am not sure the article is published in the right section.

No,Modset.xxx cannot work on Pentax K-5
There is a rumor that it shoud be xxnnnnn.505. I tried and failed
but the extension should be 505.

Is it faster with screwdrive? I think it looks like that's the case.

My opinion is that it is more "brutal" but also more hésitating, So finally, it is not really faster

which is not really difficult considering the speed of SDM !

for me it seems definitely faster than SMD but also more precise.

it is more "sacadé" more jerky. ( using AF-C, you can much more fell it)
The smooth of the SDM is not only bad.

Merci Clover

BTW, I wonder what else could be tweaked with most other lenses, toying with the EEPROM.

One idea, is that you may change the registered focal length, as far as I know, using a converter do not change for the DSLR , the final length.
So, it may be interesting to change the focal lenght of a 300mm DA f/:4 with a converter x1.5, so the stabilization may be more efficience. Also, for this example, it will help to use converter and keep using the AF

Indeed. It could also be used to change the lens ID
