Yeah, whatever...just bought a like-new DA 55-300 for 95 dollars

Hey guys!
I guess i just got the deal of the year.
I scored a like-new DA 55-300 for 95 dollars.
It's a long story...i helped the guy sell some of his lenses and i ended up getting the lens...
It is like new (according to him, was used about 10 times, and was bought 3 months ago), and came with everything...box, warranty, hood, case...
I will soon post pictures of and with the lens.

IT IS A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!

Amazing. What wheeling and dealing I've done has worked OK but never to that degree. A great lens to have when the moment hits, and the range is hard to beat. You'll enjoy it!

Congratulations. One of the under appreciated gems in the Pentax lineup.

Congratulations. It's always nice to get a good deal on a good lens.

I got my own copy a few weeks ago. It has a lot of praise from some people, while a (smaller) number of people have said it was overhyped. After putting it through some paces, I have to side with the former group of people.

That's awesome! I am waiting for such a deal myself since the going price for that lens brand-new is a bit much for me to spend. So, enjoy!

Used DAL models come up occasionally and are much more reasonably priced. Optically they are the same, you loose quick shift but I don't use that much with my AF lenses.

I actually haven't tried quick-shift (unless the camera does it automatically?) on my 18-55 DAL kit lens. For me, it's either manual shooting (which I love—for the challenge, especially on old lenses) or automatic shooting with a DA lens when I need fast focusing in fast situations (looking in my manual as I write this, can't find "quick-shift"). So I'm looking for a longer reach in a DA lens; the kit lens that came with my K-r is the only auto-focusing, non-aperture-ring lens I have. Sometimes it is a bit too short. I am happy for you.

DAL models don't have quick shift, that is one of the reasons they are less expensive.
