DA21 focusing issues?

At this point, my next major lens purchase is going to be the 21. When I saw the following thread on the DPReview Pentax forum, I got a bit concerned and started wondering whether the 21 would be a good choice--

DA 21 focussing error K10D: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

Is this a big enough deal that I should consider something else for WA?

Thanks!
Heather

Common issue with the DA 21. If the lens exhibits slight front or back focusing, a simple adjustment of the focus in debug mode and the images will be focused correctly. Had the debug mode demonstrated to me on my K100D. It just took a couple of seconds. Perhaps that's why I'm not so hot with some of the DA* primes.

My view is that many DPReview frequenters are overly sensitive. Either I've never had a back/front focussing lens, or it hasn't been a problem of great enough scale to notice. I own the DA21 and have no problems. Great lens. My most used.

I've heard that too, but can it really be that big a problem when a 21mm lens has such a huge depth of field? Wide open and close to the subject might be a problem, but under most other circumstances?

How do you get to the Debug Mode on the k10?

Thanks for all the positive responses--I feel better now.
Basically, I've narrowed down my choices for my next lens purchase(s) to the following:
--Tamron 17-50mm
--DA21 + Tamron 28-75

The only problems I have with the 17-50 are that it's digital only, so assuming that I get a film body down the road, it wouldn't work right with it (although the 43 and 70-210 would and I could also pick up a wider prime like the 28 at that point).

The only real problem that I would have with the 21 + 28-75 combination would be that both lenses would be more expensive than just 1, but I could use the 28-75 on a film body. The good part is that at least I don't have to buy them both at the same time. Since I have both the 18-55 and 28-70 (Sigma) for the time being, I could buy the 21 and wait on the 28-75 until I had enough money saved up once again. If I can have that money saved up before my birthday in July--then I'll go ahead and get the lens. If I don't, then I usually get $200 in birthday money, which could go towards it.

Another idea I had for the 21 + 28-75 combination is that if I really wanted to travel light, I could always leave the 28-75 at home and just take the 21, 43, and 70-210. If I wanted to travel really really light, the thought of picking up the 70Ltd. has crossed my mind.

It seems like my LBA is getting more and more expensive...

Well, I'll quit rambling and go get a shower.
