I've held off buying lenses for a long time because, frankly, it's a tough times out there and the 18-55 is quite good. But I've had LBA before. As a 14 year old I spent 2 months Saturday-job wages and my birthday money on a Sigma 35-200, which was disappointingly bad, so I traded it and some more Saturday-wages for a 28mm f2.8 and 135mm f2.8 - all in Praktica B mount, so all now sadly useless to me, even if I still had them. I was happy with my 28/2.8 50/1.8 and 135/2.8 though.
Anyway, I was looking on eBay the other day, with no particular aim or intention, and saw a listing for "Miranda camera with lens" It was a later Miranda, when they used K mount, so I looked at the picture more closely, and to my surprise it had a Pentax lens on it . A Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 in-fact, and there were no bids, perhaps because the word 'pentax' didn't appear anywhere in the listing. So I now have an M 50/1.7 and, as a bonus, a free camera. All for £11 (just under $18 US).
Then I 'accidentally' found myself on eBay again last night and saw a Hanimex 28mm f2.8 listed. It looks a bit battered, but it's an A lens and from what I could tell the glass looks ok. And it had no bids either. And it was only £15 delivered ($24 US) so that's coming my way too.
That's definitely it for now though. Definitely. For now ....
Here's the Hanimex (eBay picture - it's not here yet)
