With a hood the 50/2.8 is sharper but without a hood the 35/2.8 is sharper.

The 35 2.4 is the sharper overall lens in my opinion, especially in larger apertures.

Bear in mind that lenses vary. A good example of a "worse" lens can be better than a bad example of a "better" lens. My son tried out a few 35/2.4 in different shops, took some photos, and they all varied. He got one with the best rendition but there was a slightly sharper one and also a couple that were less sharp. You may be lucky and find a store that will let you try out a selection - big stores may have more than one at any time.

In my case the FA is sharper, but I am well pleased with both lenses.

It's a great little lens. I find it more useful than the 50s because of the length on APS-C cameras. Enjoy your new lens.
