Manual focus wide angle lenses seem to be pretty thin on the ground and pricey for what they actually do. Add to that the fact that wide lenses are considerably harder to manually focus than longer ones (for me at least) and I personally decided to just forget about the old glass when it comes to focal lengths under 24mm.

I have two Sigma lenses (30mm/f1.4 and 18-50mm/f2.8) and have no complaints about their quality.

Used to take photos with old ME, and when I bought K-5 4 months ago, that was my 1st experience with digital. Broke kit 18-50 lens in 15 days since purchase, and since then been on manual 50 mm again till today (great 1.7 lens, but started to freak me out). So this is exactly kind of lens (17-70) I was looking for, because right now, I'm learning auto focusing, have much essence to learn still At the moment Im loving it, great improvement from my lenses and really worth the money, and most importantly, photos look a step closer to where I want them
