kitstar 80-200mm lens

one of my friends had a kitstar 80-200mm lens lying around and wondered if i could use it on my new pentax k110d. It looks like it might, except for the "metal piece" sticking out. i haven't tried because i dont want to hurt my camera!
Its hard to find anything more than ebay listings for kitstar lenses, so i was wondering if anyoen could tell me if it was compatible with my camera? and/or a little bit about it?

thank you! im so glad i found this forum you are all very quick and helpful!

a photo of the mount would be really helpful....(not quite sure what that metal thing sticking out is)

edit...googled it, and all I can find was the screw mount variety..

its not a screw mount, here are some pictures.
i realize its ironic that they are crappy pictures im posting to a photography forum, but they were just for quick and dirty identification!
ill take other more specific ones if you want.

did u compare it to any of ur current lenses?

i got the same metal piece sticking out (for the aperture controls...)
but it has an extra piece next to it...

here are equally crappy shots....

one of the 18-55 and one of a sigma

not sure if ur is any longer tho...check it w/ ur other lenses

i have an 18-55 as well, with that extra 2nd piece, this kitstar lens does not have that, but its poss. autofocus/features that the slr lens doesnt have?
the aperture piece is exactly the same length however, the one on the kitstar is slightly wider with 'step' looking piece you can see in the last picture.
considering there arent any extra pieces, it seems like the kitstar will work, it just worries me because i dont want to go jamming something unknown onto my new camera.

I'm looking at that first image of the lens and that metal piece looks awfully long (scary). Do you have a ruler to measure it up? Put it right beside the metal piece and take a pic and repost.

actually its not that long or scary! the lens fits perfectly, but as mentioned, is fully manual with no electrical contacts to speak of.
And the aperture is set to permanently wide open so all i can really do is fiddle with the shutter speed.
so i have a very heavy half working telephoto, but its neat to have another lens in my very very small collection, and i have learned a lot especially about what exactly to look for when i find old lenses.
thank youuu for the help, ill no doubt be back soon.
