legacy wide (fast)

I'm just wondering if anyone can point me to some older manual focus glass which is fast and doesn't cost the earth (for use on DSLR)

I'm wondering how this might compare to the Samyang 14mm for night/astro/landscape etc...

There isn't very much available in the range of the 14mm Samyang, since 24mm used to be very wide. Tokina made a 17mm f3.5, it is pretty good, but really not super wide on a crop sensor.

The best option I was able to come across, that was reasonably cheap, is the Zenitar 16mm fisheye. It isn't as "fishy" on APS-C, so it can be used as a super wide angle as long as you are careful about your subject and framing. It can also be totally de-fished with relative ease.
