Awful! 43mm f/1.9 limited silver. Just Awful

Pentax smc FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited Series Autofocus Lens 20170 B&H Oh no I didn't know that even silver ones are priced like the black ones. I bought mine for like 800 bucks new in a japanese site and here it is in B&H for just a mere $584.95. If there is a silver edition of the 77mm and the 31mm from B&H then I would gladly buy them. Wishful thinking here now. But I could have saved 250 bucks at least! T__T anyone knows anything about this? Because I'm pretty sure I've checked BH before and have not come across this one being "in stock".

They go pretty quickly when B&H have them. I missed out on getting one there a while ago, but bought a very good one from a Forum member instead of waiting.

Edit: It's a great lens, so the compensating factor is the pictures you'll get from it. It's the old story about the quality being appreciated long after the price is forgotten.

Thought the silver had not been in production for several years? Was B&H selling new "old stock" or something? I have the 31, 43 and 77 in silver MIJ first versions that I paid premium for upon initial release. What cost? That was several years ago and any pains of purchase are long gone and replaced by the pleasure of use!

Ah yeah VisualDarkness, it's just like a dream.
I hope they stock the 77 and 31, I'll be the first one to buy those from them if ever.

silver vs black

Is there any difference in image quality or is it just the paint?

For what I've been reading since I became an avid fan there's none. It's just the feeling and the look you get for having a camera (K-5 silver) + the lens that is different among the lot you take excellent photos and you look d*mn look good carrying it.
