Definitely wide enough. I think any focal length between 16-90mm are all good for landscape.

I'm currently using the Sigma 17-70 & many of my shots are at 17mm which produces great "scenes".

Having said this I'm also seriously thinking of the Sigma 10-20 too as 17mm does sometimes leave me "wanting"
