?? Re 18-55 wr

Was wondering if there are different versions of the 18-55 WR lens. As in is there a WR version based on the original 18-55 optics, and a newer version based on the 18-55 II optics. I ask because this lens seems like a good match for my K01. I have an 18-55 WR but it doesn't seem as sharp as expected (I know it's a kit lens). I've had this lens for years back when I got my 200D. Was wondering if it's worthwhile if there's a newer version to cough up the coin.

There's only one version of the 18-55 WR. What I'd recommend for your K-01 is the Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 as it will perform much better overall.

According to the lens database there are three versions: the original and the II model which is supposed to be optically identical to the WR model. But if the reviews are any indication the WR model is not as popular as the II model. But that might just be the reviewers.

Probably something to do with it being 50-100% more, with no upgrade in optical quality. The WR puts it in a slightly higher than kit lens price range is all.
