Some people ain't got no taste!

The 50mm f1.2 is most useable on the crop sensor Pentax DSLRs, it makes a spectacular portrait lens. Why degrade it to use on a Canon? Grrrrrr....

Let the Canonistas buy Canon lenses!

I've actually performed a Pentax "vasectomy" once on a Chinon 50/1.7 for my brothers girlfriend. Depending on how it's done it's easy to restore it, even if it is "snipped off" it should be repairable.

It is too bad this is being done, though you can understand why

Fortunately, if the modification is done correctly, it is reverse-able or if done incorrectly, can be repaired.

Yeah, that's what they say until the knife is out!

Eric H. could probably bring this back to life pretty easily... shame it was done, though I do worse to Canon FD mounts.

If you look at the pictures you will see that this is a Pentax CASTRATION. Exactly what I would do to a person who does this to an A series lens...

The Canon 50 f/1.2L is $1500. Necessity is the mother of ingenuity. Also, the 5D is a really nice camera. You know, Pentax should make something like that...

Yep, at least it's not a RioRico "chop job" that I did to a Yashica ML 50/1.4 ...

That is the question, you can easily trade that one for a non-A and get quite a bunch of money back.
