Osawa 35-105 f/3.5-4.5 - looking for info.

Hello,
does anyone has any practical info on this lens?
It is listed on review list but with no one's review.

Actually its my laziness as I got it some time ago in almost unused condition, and had no time to give it a try.

P_1

Edit: it's K-mount version. Has a weird, but effective macro mode on all focal lengths.

I do not know this lens, but have an 80-205 which was bought by my sister in Singapore for me in 1979, when Singapore was still cheap compared with Australia, price was AUD150. I liked it. It had an original style K mount. I have not used it with my DSLR since I have now moved to using MF primes.

Does anyone know a source of maintenance information for these - in particular which pieces to remove in what order to clean inside?

I do have one Osawa 28-80 f3.5-4.5 macro with close-focus ring in k-mount. It has 1:4 to 1:8 close focus range across all focal length. I have not given it a full test although it is quite nice with all metal built body and smooth focus rings. It has 62mm filter ring and min aperture of f16.

I also got a 135mm f/2,8 k-mount also in never-ever-used condition. The truth is as I see, that if we will not run some tests and make reviews no one will.
(BTW: Osawa seems to be a economy line of Mamiya 35mm camera lenses.)

Hey, sounds like an interesting lens. Try writing a review yourself, take a couple weeks to really test the lens, how it handles and what its IQ is, and then post a review with some sample photos.

With pleasure. Got SMC-M 135 f/3,5 and SMC-A 35-105 f/3,5 to compare. Got to get rid of the flu and start testing.

One thing for sure: thanks to 52mm filter thread it can be easily mounted on my reverse MATIN adapter.

In this mode it has multiple adjustment possibility:you can search for focus with:
-- focusing ring;
-- separate, macro mode ring - button activated;
-- do focusing and cropping with zoom-sliding ring.

This way, tremendous focusing range - from few inches, to almost 6 feet can be obtained, together with amazing reproduction ratio.

I was able to see a fraction of my Pentax ME flash hot-shoe filling a full frame. ......didn't know that dust particles look like a rocks and do have a graffiti on it sometimes ;-)

Ok,..... kidding now - but you got the point: reversed - this lens seems to do surprising things. If it's followed by decent resolution/contrast/sharpness - could be an interesting piece of glass.
---------------------------------------------
Sold the lens to the K100D friend of mine, who is a hand watch fan. He will provide a lot of close up pictures made with this lens - of this I'm sure.
One lens less. Good. Got some free space. ;-)
