I've purchased many, many lenses from KEH over the past few years. Some of them look brand new and I'd bet some money that they weren't used more than once or twice. My Tamron macro is one such lens.
Only once was I dissapointed with my purchase, and it turned out to be the last lens I've purchased from them. It is an A 50mm f/1:1.2 that was rated in EX condition. All the other EX lenses I've gotten from them looked just about perfect. Not the 1.2 lens. Optically, it is okay and I have no complaints about its optical qualities nor functionality. It just doesn't look very nice. The white lettering is yellowish and there is some brassing on the aperture ring here and there.
That is what has dissapointed me. All my lenses look pretty much perfect, and this is the only 'bad apple' in the bunch. I can't really send it back and get another copy because they become available so rarely. And to boot, I paid a pretty high price for it too, probably due to the rarety of the lens.
But, at least I have one now. If I can only figure out how to utilize its unique optical qualities better.
