Thanks guys. Still getting used to the distance as I'm used to being able to go wider. AF Speed seemed good in tests and it was finding a good lock in distinctly poor light taking some portrait shots - performance better than the Tamron on the autofocus front I think.

I figure it might couple well with my Tanron 17-50mm at the wider end.
Congrats on your purchase of the 50-135 pentax. Its my favorite lens.

I just so happen to pair it with the Tamron 17-50. That's a killer combo to carry around. Its my vacation combo when I dont mind carrying some weight.

The 50-135 is really fun to use at dances. Its much smaller than the 70-200 zooms so it is not too bothersome to others if sitting in the audience or to one side and taking pics. If the lighting is such that you can get away without using a hood, its pretty compact. As far as the AF speed, its not the greatest but suits my needs, since I just take pics as a hobby.

On the other hand, I am not sure I would buy any SDM lens without extended warranty. But those kind of warranties happen to super cheap here in the US. Although having to buy second hand rules that out anyway. But again, I have not had any problems with my own copy of the lens. But it gives some peace of mind.

Have fun!

Just going to surface this again to say I'm now using the lens in anger, and so far I'm very pleased with it's performance:
