My copy of the 150-500 lacks OS, are there copies with it for Pentax?
At least I can hand hold down to about 1/100 and I'm pretty weak compared to most people:

Mine lacks OS too. It can get a little heavy while hiking, so I may end up with the occasional pic that's not very sharp on the long end. The newest versions added OS.

I heard os isn't as effective as sr.
I found OS more effective than SR at 500mm.

Also, are there better more expensive options?
The Bigma is sharper than the 150-500 at the long end from photos I've seen, and confirmed in the Lenstip testing. - lenses reviews - Lenstip.com

As I can handhold down to about 1/100s at 500mm and reports with OS is 1/30-1/50s so maybe it's about one stop off effectiveness in the lonng end? Though I doubt that my technique is that good so I guess if there is any difference it's more around stop.

So the 50-500 seems sharper, would that be a better option

I believe it's a better option; sharper, much wider FOV, better magnification (.19X vs .32X). I shoot a lot of closeups of flowers, larger insects, etc with a tele attached. Magnification is very important to me.

Unfortunately you just missed a sale on the Bigma and there's a significant gap in price between the Bigma and 150-500 right now.

I would be able to afford it if my tamron 200-500 sells, I may look out for a sale as I need a new Hexar, mine is broken beyond repair, so that will be 200 off

I see you're in London. Think SRS in Watford still do the cheapest UK Bigma at 949 (occasionally 929 on their ebay site) got mine there last Nov. They also deal in 2nd hand kit and may do part exchange for your old lenses.
