I just pulled a trigger on the grip. $46 is about the going rate for the aftermarket ones and since this one specifically says D-bg4 as well as weather sealed I figured what the hell. Will report in when it gets here

Same here! I think my K-5 will look interesting with 40mm Ltd and a grip on.

Damn, I should not thank you : Couldn't resist ordering the nice 40XS...

Thanks very much for this find, I just hope they will not add products in the future (with free shipping, S$->€ change and -7%, it's impossible to resist...)
I asked the several months ago and it is NOT the Pentax grip - its a 3rd party product.

then how can they market it as the pentax grip? Product description states WR and the Pentax model# as well as the brand being Pentax...

First, I am not the person to ask - ask them

Second, I did ask them and got the answer I shared with you.

Third, their website says: "Compatible Battery Grip For Pentax (K-5/K-7)" the key word in that description is Compatible.

Finally, all the Non-Pentax grips that I have seen advertised CLAIM to be WR but NONE have any weather sealing based on my own personal experience and ALL the reviews and thread comments here on the Forum.

"Pentax Singapore Webstore" appears to be a local DJ equipment store that happens to be an authorized Pentax dealer. I think they just bought that domain name and not necessarily an official Pentax store front in Singapore.

FYI, it appears their products come with absolutely no warranty.

Yup. Typical grey market...
You wouldn't get Pentax warranty if you purchased outside the country anyway. (In Australia anyway. Don't know about the States)
Those "manufacturer's" warranty might as well not exist.

Hello everyone,

Do anyone that ordered had any news since the payment?
I just had 2 emails confirming the order and that's all.
I am a bit worried...

So? Anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Julien

Received today

I treated it as a "used lens" purchase due to it being an international product. For what it's worth, it did come in a full retail package including a serial number card ("Printed in Jappan" ).

They could have packaged it better since they just used a mylar envelope, so the corners of the box are a bit crunched. They also really need a better way to manage your account on their site as I couldn't even log in after placing the order.

Thanks for the feedback.
Received mine today as well while I was at work.
Package very light (seems to be the same as you), but lense in good shape (40mm xs for me)
Also the SN# card in it.

Yes, the follow up from the website wasn't very good. I could log, but no news except from "order confirmed"...

Best regards,

Julien
