pentax 6x7 lens info needed

just curious which lenses are good to get for the 6x7. street shooting and landscape will be the primary use.

i found a 55 mm 3.5 lens, yet i've noticed it does not seem to have the love of the f4 model, why is this so? is it optically inferior?

Welcome to the forum.

The later 67 55/4 is a newer design with better optics and it also has a more normal 77mm filter thread. (The older 55/3.5 is 100mm)

The 67 55/4 is probably the best Pentax 6x7 lens.

Make sure you get the latest version of the 55/4, "SMC Pentax 67 55mm f/4". There is also a "SMC Pentax 6X7 55mm f/4" that has different optics.

i've also looked at the 75 mm lens, is it also better to get the later version?

All the versions of the 75/4.5 (non shift) have the same optics, but the last “SMC Pentax 67 75mm f/4.5” will have the better lens coatings. The latest 75mm lens is the 75/2.8 and it is on the expensive/rare side. It has slightly better optics, is smaller, has a shorter minimum focusing distance and is faster than the older 75/4.5.

When I had a Pentax 6x7 my "go to" lens was the 45mm F4 - nice perspective, minimal distortion. Very usable hand held.
