Any chance of a longer DA Limited?

I have the DA15, DA40, and the DA70, and I love them. For my birthday, I got the DA Limited Case 2, which has room for all five. But although the DA21 is tempting, I would love to have a DA100 or DA135 Limited to fill the gap. Is the DA70 as long as can be made in the Limited design?

Well, we already have a 100mm, it's just not branded as a limited:
Tamron 90mm Macro vs Pentax 100mm WR: Review - Introduction - PentaxForums.com

Anything longer than that would have to be very slow in order to remain compact.

As far as I know, the only new Limited lens scheduled to appear
is the zoom listed on the K mount Roadmap:

You'd have to get into Canon's super expensive diffractive optics style lenses to keep a telephoto small enough to be considered a Limited. Though I reckon a 135 f/2.8 could be made to be around the same size as the 100mm macro. I've seen plenty of tiny 135/2.8s before, and I'd love a limited version.

Rename the macro to make it clear that it's part of the series. Then a new non-macro, based on the Pentax-M 120mm f2.8, already 17mm shorter than the 100mm macro physically, still has 49mm filter, still f2.8. Here is the 120mm with an M135/3.5 image overlaid.

Interesting, thanks. I hadn't realized the 100 was the same diameter as the DA Limited lenses. There just might be enough room in my case .

Well, the Voigtländer 90/3.5 would for sure be a limited if Pentax made it and it's also a 1:2 macro (1:1 with the macro lens) so I guess the design could be made even smaller.

We can only hope. Pentax once made a very fine 135/3.5 with a 49mm filter size. I own one and it's one of the sharpest lenses I own. If they made it again as an auto focus Limited, I would buy it right away.

I would love to have a longer (135?) to add to my 4 DA Limiteds (15, 21, 40, 70) and my FA31. I had the old M135 in the film days and loved it. It could be made quite compact and would not be too much longer than the 100WR.

For years I carried the ME Super with 28, 40, and 135. It was great on the many bicycle yours and hikes. I also had the 200 when weight was not as critical. I would not be able to resist the temptation for a modern version.

The FA135 would fit in well. The IQ of the DA*50-135 is largely comparable, but (in addition to the lower price) the FA135 holds at least 2 distinct advantages over it: 1) Significantly faster AF, and 2) a much smaller, inconspicuous size and weight. I think it could be released as a DFA Ltd if Pentax wanted to.

The FA135 is a lens I almost sold at one point, but now it's become one of the essential lenses in my kit, and I'm using it as much or more than the DA*50-135.

I'd have to agree with the others about the D-FA 100 WR. I have the DA 15 Ltd, FA 43 Ltd, and the 100, and its build and handling are just as nice as the Limiteds. All three take a 49mm filter, and together they make a very nice compact kit that will handle a lot of different situations. The IQ on the 100 is also outstanding, and if you don't already have a macro, then it'll "kill two birds", so to speak!

If "Limited" means screw drive AF
and no more than 7cm in length,
then none of the proposed alternatives
(DFA 100, M120, Apo-Lanthar 90/3.5, etc.)
are going to qualify.

The FA 20-35 does fit size- and drive-wise,
so with a full metal jacket,
it could become a DA Ltd zoom.
