Originally posted by Cloapex Before, I have been looking for this lens but 1 month ago I came across the
K 55 1,8 in verygood condition for 100 $ (maybe it was a bit over market value but its rare to find)
Now I off course find the Smc tak 1,4/50 for 120 $ in good condition with double caps, metallic hood and original coger.
But is it worth buying compared to the K or will i perhaps be a bit disappointed.
This is a tough call
I have a K50/1.4, an M50/1.7, an A50/2, a super tak 50/1.4(8element version) a S.M.C. Tak 55/1.8, and an SMC Tak 55/2
In reality unless you shoot wide open, which I do from time to time going for the F1.4 is not necessary. An SMC Tak and a K are almost identical, and the tak is more useable since you can work in AV mode, where as a K lens is a manual only lens.
Also consider this, my 8 element version, which is the sharpest of all, cost me $100 (ok that was 4 years ago)
Stop where you are, and look fore something else to spend the money unless you really need F1.4 for low light, and in that case, the super tak, 50/1.4 eight element version is better
