It depends on your shooting style.

HI everybody,
I am planning to buy the new DA lenses 16 - 50, and 60 - 250 mm. As you can see there is a gap b/w where the first lens ends and the second lens begins (50 to 60 mm). Is this a problem? Am i gonna be missing a lot here.
I use a program called Exposure Plot to map out my usage.
Free at http://www.wega2.vandel.nl/

I've found that even though my walk around lens is a 28-105, I don't use the focal lengths between 50 and 70 very often. So for me the gap would be meaningless. As I have a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 The 16-50 will be a good partner. I'm still thinking about the 50-135 though.

No, I don't think so. You can use the 50mm and crop a bit if you really need something in the gap.

Probably not as you can nearly always walk closer or further away from your subject! Or use the wider angle and a bit of cropping.

I was thinking about buying the 50-200, but now have to think about maybe the 60-250. I have the 18-55 so at least I won't have to walk as far as you!

That's cool little programme. Shows that I use around 80mm 22% of the time. f5.6 26% of the time, ISO200 74%, and 160th 23% of the time!

Only analyses jpgs though.

My final output is to jpeg, so those are all I want to measure anyway. It has been very helpful to me in analyzing my shooting style, and to determine which lenses I can "clean from my closet" to pay for the K10.

Thanks for that. I've been wondering what my most common FLs were.
