Three new lenses announced. And there come more...

http://www.pentax.co.jp/english/news/2006/200646.html

So, we're going to get three new zoom lenses next year:
DA* 16-50/2,8
DA* 50-135/2,8
DA* 60-250/4

All of them will have buit-in supersonic motors and will be compatible with all Pentax DSLRs (good news!).

Unfortunately it seems that Pentax is lagging with lense development (two of those lenses were sheduled for 2006 December) but better late than never

Also no suggested retail prices are given.

Also new roadmap for 2007 just have been published.

There are coming:
DA 35mm
DA 55mm
D-FA 200mm
D-FA 300mm
DA 17-70mm
DA 70-300mm

I wonder if those lenses will have supersonic motors.

Also D-FA 55mm for 645D is expected.

The D-FA's sound good- they'll have to have supersonic motors, since previous AF versions of 200 and 300 mm lenses already exist...

mmm I already have a F*300/4.5 so can't afford to change that..

I would like to see how the DA35 performs, I may replace my 35/2 though only if the DA35 is better..

The rest don't seem to interest me other than the DA* 50-135/2,8 which I may never afford ;-)

Am I the only one who isn't tremendously interested in any of those lenses? I'm not complaining, more surprised I guess. Given how many enticing lenses Pentax makes, I would have thought next year included some additions to my bag.

I guess I'll just stick with the 44 lenses I already have.

I think it depends on what lenses you already have. I don't have that many, so a few of the new lenses look pretty good to me.
Sean, I think you have everthing that covers those new lenses, in a round about way.

Ha ha, of course you're right. I've got the 50-135 covered by...23 lenses?!?! But of course none of mine are weather sealed.

Hmmm...I smell a new project coming up...

Oh, we can all have different views. I'm interested in the new 35mm lens. I have the focal length well covered but if this is a new design with good AF and weather sealed and at least as good optics I'm sure I'll buy it. I hope it is an f1.4....

EDIT: Now I see at DPR that it is supposed to be a 35/2 lens. So, I have to hope for a miracle then.

Yeah, I had already noticed that before posting. I'm also going to assume that the 55mm will be - like the 21mm and 70mm lenses - interesting but not quite the lens that I want. I had hoped last year that the new pancakes would be 24mm and 60(ish)mm to cover some of my gaps. I simply can't justify a 21mm when I have a 20/2.8 and a 70mm when I have the 77/1.8.
I totally see the strategy, though, and I think these lenses alone will bring many Canon and Olympus converts. I hope it is good for Pentax, and I'll wait for the 2008 Roadmap.

Confirmation of f-number on DA lenses?

I don't know - I haven't seen confirmation of the apertures on the DA35 and DA55 - still hope that we can see a DA35/1.4 and DA55/1.4? Maybe I'm interested, after all...

Has anyone seen any confirmation on these lenses?

HI everybody,
I am planning to buy the new DA lenses 16 - 50, and 60 - 250 mm. As you can see there is a gap b/w where the first lens ends and the second lens begins (50 to 60 mm). Is this a problem? Am i gonna be missing a lot here.
