As i see it the pentax smc 50 f4 is very very close to the el-nikkor so i think it is a way better solution than the 50 1.7. thanks baro-nite for all your help

I know its not the same but you can get some macro filters and make just about any lens macro. Thats what I did and I got some good photos with these filters. They don't work well for shooting my shrimp in the fish tank. I would like a better macro for my aquarium photography.

Here are some photo with the marco filters.

These are my shrimp. I took these photos with an old Ricoh 50mm with a x10 marco filter on it. I used a tripod too. The light was low I need to use better lighting next time.

This was taken with the same old Ricoh lens with a +1 macro filter on it. I love the detail in the eye.

The macro filters might not be the best but you can have some fun with them.
