I was looking at ebay for any A f2.8 lens for parts (looking for a mount). Although I couldn't find anything for parts, I came across Vivitar 28mm f/2.8 MACRO1:6 in A mount. Any idea about this lens? I couldn't find much info expect one line at (Great Vivitar 28mm Bestiary)

This one with A contacts and 52mm filter thread.

Ebay link here, Sharp Pentax PK A R Mount 28mm MC F 2 8 Vivitar Lens MACRO1 6 Japan Caps EX | eBay

Thanks

Other than the fact that it is a Samyang the only thing I can say is at 1:6 it is not even a close up lens let alone a macro. Looks like it has a nasty 'Ricoh' pin as well. Dented filter ring too.

$70 seems a bit much.

Thanks, I also thought so. How much will you pay for it? Or even a basic question, will you buy?

I like the Vivitar 28 close focus, I have three ( Pentax, Canon & Minolta ) and I rate it as one of the very best third party lenses. It's not a true macro, it is what it says - close focus, and it's good at that.
As for US prices, I don't know? but $70 for one that isn't mint seems way too much. Here in the UK I have paid no more than £30 ( app $45 ) for an excellent copy.
A good copy wont disappoint you.

Do you mean that Samyang version or the Kiron and Komine ones? There is probably a big difference between those two and the one in that listing.

I wouldn't give more than $10 for the Samyang.

This is not a close focus variant.

Absolutely, I didn't make myself very clear there. Those last versions by Samyang are a completely different lens, and while there are still cheap Kiron / komine lenses about I would look for them instead.
